Economical Christmas Present Ideas

Christmas season can be the most financially demanding time of the year. Yet, there are many ways to come across affordable Christmas presents.

Build It

If you’re crafty or possess any unique talents, you can create a present. For example, if you weave you can make the person a blanket. If you are a closet poet or songwriter, write a limerick or song that deals with the recipient. Sing or read the song or poem and have the original framed.

Coupon

A custom made coupon book can be a a thoughtful X-Mas gift. Put together unique coupons for doing chores, organizing, and clean-up for the recipient. You might offer to organize their pictures into albums, do a week’s worth of chores, or clean their garage. If the person is a spouse you could present loving treats such as foot rubs and date nights. A certificate book can be created by printing off empty certificates that can be located online and put together with staples or string.

Gift Baskets

If you are searching for a present for an entire family, and have no idea what they like, a gift basket might be the best answer. You can fill an inexpensive basket with homemade cookies or muffins, small packages of cocoa mix, coffee mugs, and ripened fruit. You may also want to consider garden decor gifts such as birdhouses, bird baths, or yard sculptures. A child may enjoy a gift basket full of small games from the dollar store. Some ideas might be crayons, rubber balls, jump ropes, balloons, vivid windmills, teddy bears, play dough, and gum.

Adolescent girls might appreciate a gift basket consisting of hair ties, clips, brushes, lip gloss, nail polish, and a magazine or two. A new mother may like a gift basket that includes items like soothing bath salts, body creams, and ointment. If you have the means, include a gift certificate to a spa, beauty store, or a department store. The main thing is that you include thoughtful Christmas gift ideas that take into consideration what the person enjoys.

Treasure Chests

Kids adore getting treasures, so why not present them a treasure chest? This Holiday gift idea is relatively straightforward and you can incorporate things from convenience stores, Internet stores, and even your own closet.  First, get a trunk with a safety lid. This can be a decked out plastic container, cardboard box, or an actual chest. Then, choose a theme. If your theme is dress-up, you could load the chest with bracelets, hats, old clothes, pretend batons and swords, footwear, bows, and pendants. Other theme ideas might be pirates, princesses, knights, nature, spacemen, or extraterrestrial.

So, with a bit of thinking you can find creative X-Mas gift ideas that are very affordable. All it takes is a small amount of research to find out what the persons interests are, if you don’t already know what they are, and a visit to the local convenience store. Don’t forget, it’s the thought that counts.
